With Ankati Day & Dani Mulligan
As autumn fades and our inner landscape begins to crave spaces of quiet, The Shift Retreat offers a sanctuary on a working farm and homestead to pause, soften, and ground down. Burrowed in the tranquil woods of Maine, this retreat honors the moment between seasons; the slow exhale before winter arrives. It’s a chance to step out into deep presence.
The rhythm of this long weekend will unfold gently, like the turning of the seasons. Through yoga, meditation, sound healing, and time spent outdoors, you’ll be guided toward a feeling of serenity and rootedness. Evenings spent by the fire, quiet moments in the warmth of the sauna, nourishing meals, and spacious, unstructured time will allow your nervous system to soften and settle. Every detail is thoughtfully woven to help you feel supported and deeply at home within yourself.
If you’re craving steadiness and stillness before the darker months arrive, this Shift is for you.
Shift seasons.
Shift inward.
Shift with intention.
“There is in all visible things an invisible fecundity, a dimmed light, a meek namelessness,
a hidden wholeness.
This mysterious Unity and Integrity is Wisdom, the Mother of all, Natura naturans.
There is in all things an inexhaustible sweetness and purity,
a silence that is a fount of action and joy.
It rises up in wordless gentleness and flows out to me from the unseen roots of all created being.”
About Casa Portal, Our Retreat Center
Casa Portal is a 100-acre Maine homestead that we live on and care for, with a small flock of sheep on a working farm. We host and program private groups, retreats, farm-to-table food evenings, and simple farm stays for people who want to step away from their day-to-day and spend time on the land, together.
People come when something is shifting, or when they just need a few days that feel different from normal life. Days follow the rhythm of the farm—animals, meals, weather, the forest, gardens, and time outside. You settle in, and usually leave feeling a bit clearer and more steady than when you arrived.

Meet Your Facilitators, Ankati Day & Dani Mulligan
Ankati has been practicing yoga since she was 19, and has been teaching since that fated day she hopped a plane to Costa Rica in 2012 and her entire “life plan” shifted dramatically. She is an eternal student of movement, music, poetry, Shamanism, and her insatiable curiosity. She believes deeply that we are here on Earth to awaken our innate joy through play and exploration, and she continues to weave her gifts and learnings into immersive experiences for students and participants. She can’t wait to share the cozy autumn in Maine with you!
Dani Mulligan
Dani started yoga and meditation at the age of 14. Even from a young age, yoga always gave her the ultimate sense of coming home. She completed her Yoga Teacher Training in 2014 and has been teaching ever since.
Over the last 12 years, Dani has always loved growing alongside her students. She is experienced in leading Vinyasa, Hatha, Power, Original Hot, Yin, and Restorative classes, and also teaches Yoga for Cancer and Yoga for Recovery classes.

WHERE WE’RE GOING
Casa Portal is a retreat homestead set on a farm in Jackson, Maine, where forest, fields, and shared daily rhythm shape how time is experienced.
The property includes a restored 1840s farmhouse, private woodland trails, production gardens, a flock of heritage Navajo-Churro sheep, small cabins tucked into the landscape, and a restored barn for workshops and gatherings.
Life at Casa Portal moves with the land. Meals are prepared on site using seasonal ingredients. Days unfold with daily rhythms of nature and shared presence. The forest is steps from the door, and the pace follows the season.
The name “Casa Portal” reflects the idea of a threshold — a house that opens into something deeper. A place to step through, spend real time, and return to life with steadiness and care.
